A great travel guide to 200 cities in the world AND it’s FREEWARE .
Schmap is a “interactive experience: maps and guide content are dynamically integrated, allowing intuitive, real-time access to reviews and photo slideshows for places of interest.” I’ve used this for 2 trips to Europe and it is wonderful, you can download Europe, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand guides. Nice interface that can get a little confusing because of all the options, in fact there so much data for each City guide you download i won’t even list them all just some basic listing are Town history, Top nightlife, Tours, Shopping and optional zoom in maps. Your Schmap guides are linked to google, yahoo & microsoft maps and will zoom right to the area you are viewing in Schmap for some alternate great satellite views.
If fact this is so nice you don’t even have to travel to use the program. This is also a great learning software where you can see pictures and places and learn history of some of the most wonderful cities in the world. Great for all members of the family.
I highly recommend this program to everyone traveler or not.
