Everyone needs a laugh

A Jewish businessman was in a great deal of trouble. His business was failing, he had put everything he had into the business, he owed everybody; it was so bad he was even contemplating suicide. As a last resort, he went to a Rabbi and poured out his story of tears and woe.

When he had finished, the Rabbi said, “Here’s what I want you to do:
Put a beach chair and your Bible in your car and drive down to the beach. Take the beach chair and the Bible to the water’s edge, sit down in the beach chair, and put the Bible in your lap.

Open the Bible; the wind will rifle the pages, but finally the open Bible will come to rest on a page. Look down at the page and read the first thing you see. That will be your answer, that will tell you what to do.”

A year later the businessman went back to the Rabbi and brought his wife and children with him. The man was in a new custom-tailored suit, his wife in a mink coat, the children shining. The businessman pulled an envelope stuffed with money out of his pocket, gave it to the Rabbi as a donation in thanks for his advice.

The Rabbi recognized the benefactor, and was curious. “You did as I suggested?” he asked.

“Absolutely,” replied the businessman.
“You went to the beach?”
“Absolutely.”
“You sat in a beach chair with the Bible in your lap?”
“Absolutely.”
“You let the pages rifle until they stopped?”
“Absolutely.”
“And what were the first words you saw?”

“Chapter 11″

Skype version 4 is out!

Well for all you Skypers out there the  new version 4 is out, time to upgrade OR is it! If you like massive change and missing features maybe the new Skype is for you. But if you read the forum http://forum.skype.com/ you’ll find that the new version is not very well accepted. With out getting into it too much (read the forums complaints) i also think the new interface in ugly, hard to use, more mouse click, missing old classic features, chat feature butchered, too big, useless info given and many more…

I posted in the beta forum back in November and begged them not to release the new interface to no avail. Some where along the way Skype has lost it way. Change is ok and wanted but to make this kind of mistake is really sad and will make Skype harder to use and sell. As per my quote in the Skype beta forum “somebody at skype needs to go back to the keep it simple stupid school”.

So as a recommendation – Keep your old version of Skype, and go post your complaints on the Skype forum. Maybe they will listen to the users and fix things.

PS: 2 good things about the new version, the new audio and video codex are better (hint to Skype just port them over to version 3.8)

The best lawyer story of all time…bar none.

The United Way realized that it had never received a
donation from the city’s most successful lawyer. So
a United Way volunteer paid the lawyer a visit in
his lavish office.
The volunteer opened the meeting by saying, ‘Our
research shows that even though your annual income
is over two million dollars, you don’t give a penny
to charity. Wouldn’t you like to give something back
to your community through the United Way ?

The lawyer thinks for a minute and says, ‘First, did
your research also show you that my mother is
dying after a long, painful illness and she has huge
medical bills that are far beyond her ability to pay?

Embarrassed, the United Way rep mumbles, ‘Uh… no,
I didn’t know that.

‘Secondly,’ says the lawyer, ‘ did it show that my
brother, a disabled veteran, is blind and confined
to a wheelchair and is unable to support his wife
and six children?

The stricken United Way rep begins to stammer an
apology, but is cut off again.

‘Thirdly, did your research also show you that my
sister’s husband died in dreadful car accident,
leaving her penniless with a mortgage and three
children, one of whom is disabled and another that
has learning disabilities requiring an array of
private tutors?

The humiliated United Way rep, completely
beaten, says, ‘I’m so sorry, I had no idea.

And the lawyer says,So…
if I didn’t give any money to them, what makes you think I’d give any to you?
