Joke Of The Day!

4 08 2011

A woman goes to the Doctor, worried about her husband‘s temper and threatening manner.

The Doctor asks: “What’s the problem? The woman says: “Doctor, I don’t know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk, he threatens to slap me around.”

The Doctor says: “I have a real good cure for that. When your husband comes home drunk, just take a glass of water and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don’t swallow it until he goes to bed and is asleep.”

Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.

The woman says: “Doctor that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband came home drunk, I swished with water . . . I swished and swished, and he didn’t touch me! How does the water do that?”

The Doctor says: “The water does nothing – it’s keeping your mouth shut that does the trick . . .”

Firefox Hint

21 07 2011

Firefox Classic ReloadStop button location

Ok, so i love the new Firefox 5.0 but they moved the Reload\Stop button over into the address bar. Now it’s a little tiny button mixed in with what ever other buttons are there. Now this is not much of a hint but if you like the old classic look and feel just right click and select customize (you’ll get the pop-up window, ignore it). Now just drag and drop the icon from the address bar over next to the home and forward\back buttons. You should now see a big reload\stop icon back in it’s classic position.

Enjoy

Software of the week

21 07 2011

Do you ever get tired of having to minimize and maximize programs to the task bar? Well an old program that used to be a “Paid For” has become open source, FileBox eXtender. This little baby will add a roll-up and pin buttons to the “top level” windows (see pic). I had looked at FileBox years ago but because if was a “Paid For” i found a simple free program that did only the roll-up function, FileBox is much more elegant and more functions. FileBox eXtender also has several other feature i won’t get into, you’ll have to read their page. I really do recommend this program, it make using window easier.

taskbar-xp

Ever get pissed because you can’t move or arrange the taskbar buttons and programs in Windows. Well here is a sweet little FREE program that will let you drag and drop them in the order you want called Taskbar Shuffle. I can’t believe it took me this long to find it. Here is a quote from there page.

Taskbar Shuffle is a simple, small, free utility that lets you drag and drop your Windows taskbar buttons to rearrange them.  Here’s a full feature list:

  • Full 32-bit and 64-bit support
  • Reorder your taskbar buttons by dragging and dropping them
  • Reorder your tray icons in the same way
  • Reorder tasks in a grouped button’s popup menu in the same way
  • Middle-click to close programs on your taskbar
  • Works with UltraMon (version 3+ only) taskbars
  • Tweak taskbar button grouping

If you run more than a few applications at a time, you’ll definitely find Taskbar Shuffle useful, so give it a try!
